What is the purpose of a blog?

I have 2 blogs neither of them successful in the world of the hard core blogger and for good reason, I HATE to write. All my english 101 and 102 college classes on composition and etc have eluded me these 30 plus years since I have taken them. I don't remember what it is to have good sentence structure or how and when or why for that matter, how to do proper punctuation. I have read other peoples blogs as to how to make, create and host a successful blog. Bottom line they all seem like so much WORK. Where do they find the time, the energy and the ideas, day after day to post on em. I have no bloody idea. It boggles this bloggers imagination the amount of effort that these people expend on maintaining them.

I'm an illustrator and graphic design and create my work probably like thousands of other people in this profession with a wacom board and assorted adobe products. Do I feel like I need to expand on that when so many others already have, nah, not really, I see no reason to rehash old topics till they bore you to tears. Dear Abby or dear who ever it is writing that kinda advise now, I will continue to leave it to them.I feel no need to offer advise unless asked for it. Lotta people don't care what my opinion is, because lets face it, they tend to be like assholes everybody has one to toot.

Illustration Friday is a fun lil site hosted by a very talented illustrator name Penny Dullaghan and her friend Prianna Privett. this is taken from the site:
"Illustration Friday is a weekly creative outlet/participatory art exhibit for illustrators and artists of all skill levels. It was designed to challenge participants creatively. We believe that every person has a little creative bone in their body. Illustration Friday just gives a no-pressure, fun excuse to use it. No clients looking for a particular thing. No one judging the outcome of the work. It's a chance to experiment and explore and play with visual art. So welcome, novices and pros alike."
Since I like art and like to draw I figured aye might be fun, and it was, and still is, so I continue to post my work. But guess what, you needed a site that would host your drawings in order to post to their site at IF. They suggested a blog, so a blog was created by me, not to offer advise or how to's or splash my life, family etc across the galaxy of the NET, but to post my entry for the weekly IF site challenge. Over the years I have met, commented on, and in kind have had my own work comment on, by a lots of people that now are friends, and others that just stopped by to say hi for a day. Maybe you should give it a try.

The reason I blog and continue to blog is its a place to store a lot of my art work together in one place. Sort of a running history of what I was thinking and what was important to me at that particular time. The by product of that is I guess all of you get to see it. But mostly I blog for the FUN of it all. If you have questions about a certain illo in a post let me know and I'd be happy to try and answer it for ya. Otherwise, mostly likely I'll just continue to post my art.
